Our Mission
Our mission is to develop and promote the art of modern quilting through cooperation, education and community. Our guild promotes the appreciation of quilts, encourages quilt making, supports our members’ education and furthers the growth of the quilting community.
Our Story
The NYC Metro Modern Quilters Guild was established in 2010 to offer a place for quilters to connect and create. Originally part of the Modern Quilt Guild, our members voted to leave the MQG and continue as an independent guild in 2014. We’re a local guild based in New York City and we currently have around 70 members. We’re an inclusive guild and we gladly welcome everyone with an interest in quilt making – including beginners, experienced quilters and everyone in between. We support all styles of quilt making and our guild is a place where everyone is free to explore their own creativity. Check out our blog for the latest news about our meetings, events and recent projects.
